This 26+ page A4 e-book provides students (and teachers) with a practical guide to evaluating the key media theories required for A Level Media Studies. It includes 23 essential (and a couple of extra) theorists from across Media Language, Representation, Industries and Audiences, helping students develop the AO2 evaluation skills needed to compare theories, assess their strengths and limitations and make informed judgements about their usefulness.

 

Each theorist page includes an overview, key ideas and concepts, strengths, limitations, application examples, supporting and challenging theorists, an overall evaluation and a final judgement. The guide is designed to help students move beyond simply learning what a theorist says and instead focus on how to evaluate theories effectively in exam responses.
